<p>SmartPlay is an impressive Safari Web Extension that provides users with enhanced control and functionality while streaming videos on popular websites. With features like Video Effects, Playback Speed, Custom Subtitles, Auto-Skip Intros, and IMDB Ratings, SmartPlay offers a seamless and personalized video streaming experience.</p>

<p>For iPhone users, SmartPlay supports popular platforms including YouTube, Twitch, and iQIYI. On the other hand, iPad users can enjoy SmartPlay on Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, Twitch, and iQIYI. Regardless of the device you're using, SmartPlay is user-friendly and prioritizes your privacy by not tracking or collecting any personal information.</p>

<p>Once you start playing your favorite movie, TV show, or video, a convenient control panel will appear on top of the Safari player, allowing you to effortlessly manage your video streams. Notably, SmartPlay is the first Safari Web Extension to provide complete control over online video streams after its introduction at WWDC 2021 in June.</p>

  <li>Puts you in control of Playback Speed from 0.01x slower to 5x faster, catering to various needs such as speeding up slow movies or viewing videos in slow motion for language learning</li>
  <li>Enables quick Rewind of 60 seconds</li>
  <li>Auto-Skip Intros and Recaps without requiring manual skip button presses (Netflix on iPad only)</li>
  <li>Adds Multiple Custom Subtitles in SRT or VTT format, customizable in terms of position, color, size, background color, background opacity, time offset, font family, and font encoding</li>
  <li>Provides zoom in/out and video positioning options</li>
  <li>Displays Detailed Information about the Video Stream (Netflix on iPad only), including video, audio, and network details such as resolution, frame rate, bitrate, codec, HDR support, current CDN, throughput, and movie ID</li>

<h2>Setup Instructions</h2>

<ol>
  <li>Open the SmartPlay app and click the button on the welcome screen to access the Settings screen. Then tap Safari (for iPad users, check the left pane) > Extensions > SmartPlay and toggle the switch to turn it on.</li>
  <li>On the same screen, go to All Websites and tap Allow to grant permission for SmartPlay's extension to run on Safari across all websites. You're now ready to enjoy SmartPlay! You should see the overlay menu appear when watching videos on Safari.</li>

<p>Note: You can access the SmartPlay settings by tapping the "Manage Extensions" icon in your Safari address bar.</p>

<p>However, please note that you won't be able to access the overlay menu while your video is being played in full-screen mode on iPhone.</p>

<p>If Safari displays a notice regarding the extension's ability to read your sensitive information and browsing history, please be assured that this is a standard reminder for every extension. SmartPlay respects your privacy and will never read or collect personal information like passwords or credit card numbers. It is entirely secure to use.</p>

<p>The SmartPlay extension is compatible with Safari for iOS/iPadOS versions 15.0 and above.</p>
